Community News

Statistics Canada is recruiting Indigenous people to participate in individual interviews to test content related to the Census. The interviews will be led by a Statistics Canada interviewer and any information that you provide is strictly confidential.  The interview will last approximately 1 hour and you will be compensated $75 following the interview.

All the interview questions deal with matters of opinion, so there are no right or wrong answers.  Your participation is very valuable and we’d like your input and feedback in this process.  We are interested in your understanding of specific concepts and wording, and to see how easy the questions are to answer. Topics covered will include a person’s ancestry, Indigenous identity, and population group.

In order to participate, you must:

  • Live in Canada
  • Have access to reliable internet and a device that would allow you to participate in an online video call such as a computer or tablet. Phones are not recommended as the screens are small to read questions on.
  • Speak English or French
  • Be available the week of September 18 to 22

If you are interested, please send the following information to statcan.cisp-team-cspa-equipe.statcan@statcan.gc.ca . You will be contacted to schedule an appointment. Please note there are a limited number of spots available.
