Bus Drivers
Summary: Sagkeeng Education Authority (SEA) is presently recruiting school bus drivers. Under the supervision of the Manager of Transportation, the school bus driver ensures the safe and systematic transportation students to and from school and other school
DUTIES:
- Safe transport students of Sagkeeng to and from school in accordance and in adherence with the MB Highway Traffic Act and Sagkeeng Education Policy,
- Conducting daily inspections to determine the safe condition of the bus
- Determining the safety of road conditions on their specific route
- Signaling and supervising safe crossing times to boarding/departing students
- Providing a safe environment inside the bus for all passengers
- Report student misconduct to the Transportation Manager and other staff as required
- Report, immediately, any accidents to the Transportation Manger and other staff
Maintain bus cleanliness and and immediately report any mechanical or safety issue to the Manager of Transportation, - Report, immediately, any accidents to the Transportation Manger and other staff
- Maintain regular records as prescribed by the Policy Manual and/or by the Bus Supervisor,
- Other duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class 2 Driver’s License is a must,
- School Bus Operators Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- Satisfactory current driver’s abstract
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to supervise passengers under care
- Ability to communicate in a pleasant, courteous and effective manner
- Previous experience working with children is an asset,
- First Aid / CPR is an asset,
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and independently control their behaviour when necessary
- Must respect confidentiality of work
