Projects Writer
Position Overview:
Sagkeeng Education Authority (SEA) is seeking a talented and motivated Education Projects Writer to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the development execution, and reporting of projects administered by Sagkeeng Education Authority. Collaborating closely with all programs administered by SEA to craft compelling proposals and ensure timely and detailed reports to funders. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, research abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Duties:
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities from various sources, including government grants, foundations, and private organizations.
- Collaborate with internal departments and community partners to gather information, project details, and goals for proposal development,
- Write, edit, and proof-read grant, proposals, ensuring they are clear, concise, an align with the organization’s mission, vision, and objectives.
- Conduct thorough research to gather supporting data, statistics, and evidence to strengthen proposals and enhance their persuasiveness.
- Create project budgets and financial narratives, in collaboration with the finance team to accurately reflect the financial needs of proposed projects
- Manage proposal timelines and deadlines, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create visually appealing and impactful presentations to accompany proposals, when required.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of past, current and potential funding sources and their specific requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in proposal writing to enhance the effectiveness of future proposals.
- Working with the Finance Department, coordinate the financial reporting of all education projects.
- Write, edit and proofreading of all quarterly and final reports for education projects ensuring SEA has met all timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Communications, Business Administration or related Relevant work experience may be considered in-lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience in grant writing, proposal development, quarterly and final report writing or a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong research skills, including the ability to gather and analyze data from diverse sources.
- Detailed-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with grant management software is preferred.
- Knowledge of indigenous communities, culture and funding opportunities would be an asset.
