Medical Transportation Manager

Reporting directly to the Health Director, the Medical Transportations Manager is responsible for the daily coordination of transport for Sagkeeng First Nation community members to their medical appointments, the supervision of program staff, as well as the overall management of the Sagkeeng’s Health Centre’s Medical Transportation program

DUTIES:

  • Adhere to the FNIHB/NIHB Medical Transportation Policy Framework
  • Arrange, coordinate and approve Medical Transportation and accommodations/meals as per policy;
  • Supervise the Medical Transportation Drivers and maintain accurate records of any personnel matters as appropriate;
  • Prepare and maintain a filing system for all documentation such as letters, reports, forms, travel warrants, Medical Transportation Data etc
  • Schedule appointments for servicing and maintenance of Medical Transportation vehicles
  • Develop a schedule for Medical Transportation Drivers and monitor Medical Transportation log books (telephone, incidents, etc.) checking for accuracy and completeness
  • Complete quarterly and year-end program reports to funders
  • Collecting all necessary information about appointment from client
  • Entering data into the Mustimuhw System
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times;
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completions of a post-secondary education/training in business administration, logistics, or equivalent relevant training; combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience is a strong asset
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to acquire Class 4
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong ability and extensive knowledge and experience working with computer software applications – particularly Microsoft Word and excel – and experience with data input systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong ability to effectively deal with the public
  • Previous experience working in the health industry and/or with First Nations Communities is an asset
