Mental Health Program Manager
Sagkeeng Health Centre

Reporting to the Director of Health, the Mental Health Manager provides overall coordination, supervision and direction to the Sagkeeng Health Centre’s mental health workers and is responsible for overall program planning and reporting for its mental health programs. The Mental Health Manager receives consultation from the FNIH community therapist(s), and reports to and receives overall direction from the Health Director. The goal of the Mental Health Manager is to coordinate program resources in such a way as to meet the client needs while encouraging client independence, family and community support.

DUTIES:

  • Supervision of all mental health workers including regular one-on-one coaching, performance reviews, entitled leave management, etc.,
  • Annual development and management of program work plans and budgets for all mental health programs,
  • Weekly submission of program cheque requisitions,
  • Development and enforcement of mental health policies, procedures, and protocols,
  • Attendance of regular program manager meetings as well as meetings with external mental health and addictions stakeholders,
  • Assignment of appropriate services and support based on individualized client needs,
  • Review of client charts and month end reports to ensure program and privacy protocols are being met,
  • Preparation and submission of year-end reports for mental health programs.
  • Other duties assigned within scope of position

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalent,
  • Registration with the Manitoba College of Social Workers, or equivalent regulatory licensing body,
  • Previous program management and/or supervisory experience,
  • Previous experience managing budgets and year-end report preparation
  • Must be self-directed and have demonstrated organizational skills,
  • Maintain a valid Manitoba driver’s license,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have demonstrated ability in public relations and interpersonal skills,
  • Must possess excellent computer literacy skills and knowledge of computer programs,
  • Knowledge of First Nations communities, social and health services, challenges and opportunities unique to First Nation communities and programs,
  • Valid Class 5 MB driver’s license, with the willingness to obtain a class 4 driving license
  • Access to a reliable registered vehicle is required
