Position: Greenhouse Coordinator

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal, the Greenhouse Coordinator. The greenhouse coordinator manages and oversees the daily operations of the greenhouse facility, focusing on plant cultivation, environmental controls, and supervision of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily greenhouse, nursery, and garden operations.
  • Plant, maintain, and care for crops, flowers, trees, and plants.
  • Monitor greenhouse systems including irrigation, ventilation, temperature, and humidity.
  • Identify and manage pest, disease, and weed concerns using safe practices.
  • Maintain inventory records and coordinate ordering of supplies and equipment.
  • Support harvesting, transplanting, and distribution of greenhouse products.
  • Develop and assist with educational workshops and sustainability programming.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support staff, interns, and youth workers.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Perform manual labour and work flexible hours as operational needs require.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, diploma, or related experience in horticulture, agriculture, greenhouse management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in greenhouse, gardening, or plant production environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and database systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with families, educators, community members, youth, and staff.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, language, and traditions is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and First Aid/CPR Level C certification.
