Manitoba Hydro continues upgrades and improvements to the Seven Sisters generating station. A small coffer dam will be installed upstream to continue pre-planned work of a new heat trace system on the spillway deck. The new heat trace installation protects the integrity and durability of the intake deck against the freeze and thaw cycles.
Manitoba Hydro plans to open the spillway deck on weekends throughout the project. The Trans Canada Trail will close from July 4 to August 11.
Signage will be posted on the Trans Canada Trail.
Residents and resource users may notice construction equipment in the area.
There will be no power interruptions or water levels changes due to this project.
Manitoba Hydro will complete an environmental screening and communicate with regulators, as required.
We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause.
