CASUAL SUPPORT WORKERS
Mikaaming Healing Lodge is looking for individuals who are interested in supporting individuals and families who are in the healing/treatment program at Mikaaming Healing Lodge. Candidates are expected to exercise professional initiative, good judgement, and interact with participants on a positive basis. He/she/they must also demonstrate maturity, stability, reliability, and the ability to act independently and function as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent – prefer with Family Support Certificate, Counselling certificate or Addictions related training; Life Skills Certificate; or combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Experience in working with children/youth and families and able to create and deliver appropriate child/youth and family activities
- Must be able to function independently, be flexible and adapt quickly to
- Proven ability to work in crisis and be able to apply policy and procedures as they
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Competent in using computer programs (Microsoft Word, )
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and heritage
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills g. problem solving, solution focused, conflict resolution.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends,
- Must have current First Aid &
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willing to obtain Class 4 driver’s
- Provide current Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry
- Must be able to demonstrate how you lead a positive & healthy lifestyle (identify in your cover letter and/or references).
