TEACHER
The Teacher is an integral part of the Clinical Team and responsible for providing children and youth with learning opportunities and educational support for each seven-week treatment program. This position has flexible work options available.
Employment Requirements:
- Minimum of four years’ experience working with First Nations children/youth with an understanding of the challenges young people may present in attending treatment programming with their
- Ability to accommodate and ensure the learning needs of varying grade levels is met.
- Must have a holistic approach to teaching children and youth for educational requirements including fostering their Aboriginal identity, spiritual growth and emotional well-being.
- Demonstrate a working awareness of the impacts of colonization on Indigenous
- Ability to implement traditional teachings in classroom with assistance and support of Elders and Cultural
- Emotional maturity to effectively address and cope in crisis
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with students, parents and as part of Clinical
- Proficient computer skills and knowledgeable in
- Experience in counselling and work related knowledge of addictions would be an
- An Education Degree or Manitoba Teaching Certificate from a recognized university or Please provide a copy of same along with your resume.
- Must adhere to Oath of Confidentiality and Code of Professional Conduct of the
- Have a valid Class V Driver’s License and willing to obtain Class IV as part of ongoing
- A valid Emergency First Aid / CPR
- Provide current Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry
- Must be able to demonstrate a positive and healthy lifestyle, and be viewed as a positive role
