PURPOSE
As the Assistant Manager for Tim Hortons within the Sagkeeng Anicinabe Nation, you will serve as an enthusiastic role model, motivating team members to deliver exceptional service to customers consistently. You will build positive relationships within a diverse team and play a critical role in training team members to achieve high standards of guest service, quality, and cleanliness. Leveraging your knowledge of the quick-service industry, you will support the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day operations of our fast-paced restaurant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate a passion for customer service by creating exceptional experiences that align with Tim Hortons’ standards.
- Foster strong relationships with customers and team members to enhance a positive work environment and improve customer satisfaction.
- Utilize your operational experience to support daily functions and ensure adherence to quality and service standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and guests, ensuring clarity in all interactions.
- Coach and mentor team members to promote their growth and development within their roles.
- Show a willingness to gain valuable experience that contributes to your professional development within Tim Hortons.
- Maintain open availability to adapt to the restaurant’s operational schedule and assist in various roles as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required (minimum age of 18).
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on hospitality.
- Proven ability to lead a team effectively while promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Experience in cash handling and financial reporting in a restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of the food industry, including serving techniques and barista experience, is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in hotel or kitchen experience is beneficial.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or ability to obtain within six months) with a willingness to travel as required.
- Proficiency in Anishinaabemowin and familiarity with Sagkeeng culture, protocol, and ceremony are strong assets but not mandatory.
- Previous work with First Nations governments, councils, or Indigenous organizations is an asset.
- Successful candidates must provide a Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check; prior convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis relative to job responsibilities.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- The successful candidate will be required to attend four (4) weeks of Tim University training in Oakville, Ontario.
