ASSISTANT MANAGER
Full-Time (Permanent Position)
DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Manager to join our Tim Hortons team within the Sagkeeng Anicinabe Nation. In this role, you will be a role model for our team, inspiring them to deliver consistent, exceptional service to our customers. You will play a vital role in training team members and fostering a positive work environment while supporting the Restaurant Manager in the daily operations of our fast-paced restaurant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create exceptional customer experiences that align with Tim Hortons’ standards.
- Build strong relationships with customers and team members to enhance satisfaction and positivity.
- Support daily operations, ensuring adherence to quality and service standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and guests.
- Coach and mentor team members to promote their growth and professional development.
- Maintain open availability to adapt to the restaurant’s operational schedule and assist in various roles as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required (minimum age of 18).
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on hospitality.
- Proven ability to lead a team effectively while promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Experience in cash handling and financial reporting in a restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of the food industry, including serving techniques and barista experience, is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in hotel or kitchen experience is beneficial.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or ability to obtain within six months) with willingness to travel as required.
- Proficiency in Anishinaabemowin and familiarity with Sagkeeng culture, protocol, and ceremony are strong assets but not mandatory.
- Previous work with First Nations governments, councils, or Indigenous organizations is an asset.
- Successful candidates must provide a Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check; prior convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis relative to job responsibilities.
- The successful candidate will be required to attend four (4) weeks of Tim University training in Oakville, Ontario.
