Sagkeeng Pre-employment & Income Assistance
Receptionist – Full Time Position
Under the direction of the Social Assistance Director, the receptionist will be responsible for assisting the Pre-Employment & Income assistance program in accordance with established policies and procedures and for the benefit of eligible individuals and families who reside on Sagkeeng First Nation.
DUTIES:
- Greet and assist visitors coming to the office, determine nature and purpose of visit and direct them to the appropriate destination,
- Answer incoming calls, document and redirect calls as appropriate and take messages as required
- Screen inquiries by callers and visitors to determine if the person is applying for EIA.
- Provide Clerical support, word processing and filing.
- Keep a record of and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail on request, mail letters and other documents.
- Make and confirm appointments, notifying Income & Assistance applicants or others scheduled meetings to request their attendance.
- Ensure that computers, photocopy machines and other office equipment are services and maintained properly.
- General office duties such as typing, photocopying, faxing, filing, editing,
- Monitor and distribute incoming mail appropriately,
- Monitor the inventory of office and other supplies and order as required
- Ensure all outgoing mail is deposited in a mailbox,
- Processes standard form letters, and correspondence, as required
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have grade 10 or equivalent
- Must have experience with computers, word processing and filing.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with people
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to maintain a positive and welcoming demeanor and provide superior customer service
- Proven ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and data skills an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum one (1) year experience working as a receptionist, administrative assistant or office support an asset
